What is the Center?

The Miracles Now Center is a center dedicated to fostering spiritual development through the study and practice of A Course In Miracles.

The ultimate aim is to help more people find their own Internal Teacher, to remember who they are – individualized expressions of God.

We will do this in a fun, contemporary, simplified manner, by presenting A Course In Miracles with a lot of color images, video, and by simply breaking it down into "bite sized pieces."

What is the Course?

The introduction states, "This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.

Herein lies the peace of God."

     Who is it for?

In the Preface of A Course In Miracles it is stated, "It's only purpose is to provide a way in which some people will be able to find their own Internal Teacher." Then in the Manual For Teachers section, Clarification of Terms subsection, Introduction, it states, "The course is simple. It has one function and one goal." That goal is clarified with this, "It is concerned only with the Atonement, or the correction of perception." The key points:

• It is A Course, not The Course, so it is intended to help some, not all people
• It does not set up another external dependency, but returns us to our Internal Teacher
• It does not complexify (that is the ego's strategy) but simplifies

        What do we need to Do?

In the text, chapter 21, section II, it says, "We have repeated how little is asked of you to learn this course. It is the same small willingness you need to have your whole relationship transformed to joy...

This is the only thing that you need do for vision, happiness, release from pain and the complete escape from sin, all to be given you. Say only this, but mean it with no reservations...

I am responsible for what I see.

I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve.

And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and receive as I have asked."
